Vintage STANLEY BAILEY No. 5 Plane C 2

ANTIQUE STANLEY BAILEY No. 5 SMOOTH BOTTOM PLANE
This is from the estate of a local carpenter. I have little knowledge of vintage tools but this Stanley Bailey No. 5 plane appears to be in perfect working order. I do not know the exact date of manufacture, but it bears the "MADE IN USA" near the front wooden handle. His name is etched into the side of the plane "John XXXXX" - see pix. The only other markings I can find are the letter "C" and the number "2" under the section that holds the blade, and the name "STANLEY" on the thin piece of metal (see pictures).
